About Digital Zimbabwe

Good Zimbabwean businesses should not be hard to find online.

Digital Zimbabwe exists because too many good local businesses are hard to find, hard to trust online, or stuck with only a Facebook page. We build them proper websites — fast, affordable, and looked after — so they can compete on merit, at home and across the region.

The founder

Built by a Zimbabwean operator, for Zimbabwean businesses.

Digital Zimbabwe was started by Joshua Elliott — a Zimbabwean operator backing small local businesses with his own expertise and money.

01 · The operator

Joshua Elliott builds and runs tourism and hospitality businesses in Zimbabwe — including Matobo Hills Lodge and the inbound tour operator ZimTravellers. He built their websites, booking enquiries, Google presence and online marketing himself: exactly the work small businesses across Zimbabwe need, and rarely get done properly.

02 · Why he built it

The tools that let a small Zimbabwean business look credible and win customers online are finally within reach — but most owners have no time, no spare cash, and no one local they trust to do it right. So he put his own expertise and money behind a service priced for real small businesses, not for agency margins.

03 · Not aid — a hand up

This is deliberately not aid. It's a hand up — backing Zimbabwean businesses to compete on their own strength, in their own market and across the region, without waiting for a grant or anyone's permission. Get a business found, trusted and contactable online, and it can stand on its own.

Local context

Built for WhatsApp-first, Google-checking customers.

Zimbabwean customers often move between referrals, Facebook, Google Maps, WhatsApp, phone calls and trust checks before they enquire. Your website should support that real behaviour, not copy a generic agency template.

Every site is checked, edited, localised and structured around the way customers actually contact Zimbabwean businesses — never handed over as a generic template.

Local finish

Built fast, and finished by people who actually run businesses here.

Clear pricing

Pricing is clear because small businesses need practical decisions.

You own it

No lock-in: you should own your website and domain.

Ongoing care

Monthly care keeps the site useful after launch.

Local paths

Local payment and contact paths matter.

Real proof

Proof, reviews, maps and clear services matter more than vague agency language.
